Summary:

The Precertification/Referral Clerk is responsible for determining the need for additional information from referral sources and shall facilitate obtaining all appropriate information necessary to process the referral. Interact with patients regarding billing, payment and resolution. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Confirms insurance eligibility with payor as necessary for referrals, co-pay determination, pre-approval for procedures, and patient deductible determination.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Obtains precertification from commercial insurance providers as applicable. Responsible for determining the need for additional information from referral sources and shall facilitate obtaining all appropriate information necessary to process the      referral.
  • Interact with patients regarding billing, payment and resolution..
  • Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Completes internal and external referrals, and fax completed forms to the appropriate entity
  • Enter referral information into the patient's chart
  • Responsible for sorting incoming mail and faxes
  • Willing to learn and perform other Precert duties as assigned
  • Professional phone etiquette a must


Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in precertification/referral, specialty a plus .
  • Proficient in MS Office preferably in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with limited supervision;
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Short distance travel to other DMA sites with personal vehicle.

Summary:


The Radiology Technician is responsible performing x-ray exams and related duties. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


Minimum requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of accredited radiology technician training program.
  • Registered by ARRT, current CPR certificate.
  • Knowledge of x-ray technical principles, policies, and procedures, anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing, patient safety procedures, and quality care standard.
  • Minimum one year of experience in x-ray.
  • Proficient in MS Office preferably in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail. 


Duties to include to not limited to:


  • Performs x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials
  • Prepares contract media and barium.
  • Ensures equipment is in working orders.
  • Logs radiologic procedures completed.
  • Processes paperwork.
  • Maintains examination rooms.
  • Stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Develops and processes radiologic films.
  • Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products.
  • Performs venipuncture, and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and following medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and      confidentiality.
  • Conducts laboratory tests on specimens.
  • Enters data into computer.
  • Instructs on urine collection procedures.
  • Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.


Summary:


The Quality Care Coordinator is a member of the quality health care team. They are responsible for promoting interdependent collaboration for a patient’s continuum of care with the member, physician, healthcare team and family to improve or maintain the member’s social, emotional, functional, and physical health status. The focus of the Care Coordinator is to promote whole person health support to the member with emphasis on establishment of routine contact with his/her primary care physician and facilitate specialist referrals as appropriate per physicians’ orders. In addition, the Quality Care Coordinator is responsible for assisting with closing clinical gaps in care and ensuring smooth transitions in care.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide telephonic outreach and in-person consultation to members identified as high risk, having a chronic condition(s) and in need of preventive services.
  • The DMA Care Coordinator will collect in-depth health information about a member’s health history as well as assess a member’s individual needs to assist in identifying higher-risk members and develop a comprehensive plan of care addressing these needs.
  • In collaboration with the physician, assess clinical information to develop and a member specific care plan. The Quality Care Coordinator will involve the member as well as the member’s caregivers in the determination of specific objectives, goals and action items identified in the assessment process. The plan of care will be oriented and time specific.
  • Assist with coordination of care/services as well as care transitions working with both internal and external entities.
  • Establish measurable goals that promote evaluation of the cost and quality outcomes of the care provided.
  • The Quality Care Coordinator will facilitate and execute specific interventions to accomplish the established goals in the plan of care to ensure that the member’s health, safety, and welfare are at the forefront for each member.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient adherence to medical plan of care, including medication adherence, evidence-based care, and specific screenings for recommended preventive care.
  • Utilize i2i Population Health Management tool to improve quality outcomes and reduce unnecessary tests.
  • Develop individualized goals with members to improve adherence and outcomes.
  • Interacts with other departments to ensure the smooth transfer of member information across the continuum of care.
  • The DMA Care Coordinator will gather sufficient and relevant health information from all sources to determine the effectiveness of the plan of care, including regular prescribed contacts with the member and perform updates to the assessment and plan of care as needed.
  • Proactively outreach to members newly diagnosed with a targeted chronic condition.
  • Perform medical chart reviews to confirm adherence to prescribed therapies (e.g., labs, medications); document findings in Nextgen
  • Maintain requirements of documentation as reflected in audits to meet compliance with quality standards

Job Qualifications


Education


  • LPN/MA with active license/certification in the state of Tennessee.
  • Experience*
  • Minimum of 5 years healthcare w/ 3 years clinical experience required.
  • Prefer 3 years’ experience providing care coordination to persons receiving medical treatment with chronic conditions, Case Management or Care/Disease Management.


Skills/Certifications (Skills include the following, but are not limited to)


  • Must be PC literate with extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional skills of independence, organization, communication, problem-solving, professional interaction, and human relation skills, as well as analytical skills and problem solving ability.
  • Proficient with processes to build teams and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work within specified timeframe requirements.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing Techniques and Adult Learning Styles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are required


Summary:


Independently performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups. Responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and providing quality diagnostic results. May be multi-credentialed in the area of Sonography.


Minimum Education:


Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography


Required Certfications/Licensure:


Possession of a current registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography.


Preferred Certfications/Licensure:


Abdomen, RVT, and/or any other sonography credentials. BLS.


Skill Requirements:


  • Graduated from an accredited school with current registrations/certificates
  • Knowledge of computers
  • Knowledge of general ultrasound procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent patient skills
  • Must be organized and pay close attention to detail
  • Two years experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in abdomen, RVT and/or any other sonography credentials
  • BLS required

Summary:


The coding specialist performs highly technical and specialized functions at Dickson Medical Associates. The employee reviews, analyzes, and codes diagnostic and procedural information that support Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement. The primary function of this position is to perform ICD 10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for reimbursement for various medical specialties within the organization. The coding function also ensures compliance with established coding guidelines, third party reimbursement policies, regulations and guidelines. Communicates with Providers and staff. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Abstracts all necessary information and assigns proper billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, & HCPCS), which most accurately describe each documented diagnosis, surgical procedure, and special therapy or procedure according to established guidelines.
  • Analyzes provider documentation to assure the appropriate Evaluation & Management (E & M) levels are assigned using the correct CPT code.
  • Communication with providers and staff to encourage appropriate coding and documentation practices
  • Serves as a resource and works with other business and clinical employees to resolve coding issues and questions.
  • Consistently stays up to date with coding changes and mandates, communicating as appropriate to other staff members, including providers
  • Performs any necessary coding-related training for staff and providers
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge:


  • CPC or related certification is required. Expectation of continuing education to maintain certification is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred (or applicable work experience).
  • Experience with multi-specialty coding is a plus.
  • Experience with NextGen is a plus.

Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipuncture on children ages birth and up. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.


Education and/or Experience:


Minimum requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma
  • Minimum one year of pediatric phlebotomy experience
  • Medical practice experience helpful
  • ASCP required; certification as medical assistant preferred but not required.
  • National certification through American Medical Technologists as a registered phlebotomy technician not required but helpful
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • MS Office preferably in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail

Patient Account Representative – Full Time - responsibilities include a variety of office/clerical tasks relating to claims processing; contacts patients and responsible parties to resolve past-due accounts; investigates account status and initiates collection.. Works with physicians, staff and other facility departments to develop and implement policies and procedures. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.

 

Education and/or Experience:


Minimum requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree preferred, two years prior of customer service experience with a medical group. Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices. Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices. Must be proficient in computer related skills, MS Office preferably in Excel and Word; ability to work with limited supervision; possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail.


(Duties include the following, but are not limited to)


  • Identifies problem accounts with payors; investigates and corrects errors, follows-up on missing account information, and resolves past-due accounts.
  • Answers inquiries by phone regarding past-due accounts and insurance guidelines; researches incorrect addresses for past-due accounts.
  • Contacts responsible party to resolve delinquent accounts; prepares payment plans and monitors adherence to plans by responsible party; directs accounts to outside collection agencies when necessary.
  • May contact attorneys, employers, physicians, and others necessary to obtain information for resolution of credit and collection matters.
  • Prepares reports to identify and resolve accounts receivable and referral problems.
  • Posts data; verifies and performs mathematical computations; maintains files.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence, memos, letters, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
