Treatment and follow up care with positive airway pressure and referral to ENT and sleep dental services as appropriate.
- Narcolepsy and other disorders of profound daytime sleepiness.
- Parasomnias – unusual behaviors during sleep such as sleep walking, sleep talking, sleep-related movements, dream enactment behaviors, restless legs syndrome.
- Circadian rhythm sleep disorders – altered timing and patterns of sleep/wake behaviors.
- Insomnia – difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep.
- Occupational sleep medicine – sleep specific issues with shift workers, truck drivers, etc.
Polysomnography
A comprehensive overnight evaluation of sleep neurological and respiratory physiology performed in the sleep disorders center, attended by a technologist. Used in the diagnosis of sleep-related breathing disorders, sleep-related movement disorders, and narcolepsy.
Home Sleep Apnea Testing
A limited, unattended evaluation of sleep respiratory physiology performed in the patient’s home for select patients at high risk of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea.
Multiple Sleep Latency Testing
Specialized daytime tests performed for the diagnosis of narcolepsy or to confirm the ability to maintain wakefulness in certain critical occupations.
